The 'EGG EATERS' or 'EGG EATER' is a good example of a painting that I can not explain. I look at it and have no idea if anything in it is somehow symbolic of anything in my life or anyone's. Some day it may come to me. 'They' say that there is meaning in ALL things. I can't even figure out if the snake is regurgitating up eggs for the central creature to eat, or if the creature is vomiting up the eggs for the snake to devour? Maybe it does not mean a damn thing!
I can tell you that there are 3 paintings under it that I did not care to complete. Hence, the obvious impasto.
I don't know if art has to have meaning. Probably not. However, there is the question of why I painted these 'things'. What are they? What are they doing? Perhaps this is more a painting of 'questions' than 'meanings'.
I did enjoy painting it VERY much. One reason I enjoyed it, perhaps more than some, is that I did not know what I was painting, or why. It was just the joy of it, and the god like escapism of creation.

first, I love this work, it is just wonderfull.
well as you said it's hard to find a sense to it but something came to me. It may interest you but it is just my point of view.
to me, there is something about how to move and go on in life, I explain :
- the spirit, with on the top left hand corner, the birds for flying
- the legs for walking
- the creature in the middle can roll
- the "fish" can swim
moreover, I think that the egg embody life and they just eat their egg. we go on in life and consume it.
