Acrylics on canvas. size: 30" x 48" (2 x 24" x 30" canvases) completed in Los Angeles, Jan, 2006. (I had to splice the two images together in Photoshop. So, if you have a keen eye, and see the seam where I had to use the clone tool to make them fit, that's what that is.)
This is a commissioned painting. The collector is a dentist. He's a really interesting guy who has some of my best work. He wanted the painting to be somewhat "toothy", or "oralistic".
The truth is, I've worked on this painting so long that I don't think I can see it anymore. (well over 200 hours) I think many of you understand what I mean. Sometimes an artist. (of any kind) can get so involved in a piece that all objectivity abandons him. One morning I would wake up loving it, the next morning, I wanted to rip it up and begin over. Now it is done ... and I like it.
I hope YOU dig it!
One more thing, ... For ALL you that signed up as "friends" and sent me messages and comments and notes ... THANK YOU!
Understand that when I got that "Daily Deviation" last week, my messages got WAY OUT of CONTROL! I received hundreds of comments, all deserving of responses, in 24 hours. I VERY MUCH appreciate them ALL
However, I must devote most of my time to my work. I MUST create as many paintings as I can before I die
It's the only thing I do that justifies my existence.
just.. very enjoyable.
