Description

Painted in Los Angeles October 2006
20" x 20" x 1" acrylic on canvas with ball point pen drawings.

This is part of my series, "MESSAGES FROM A TINY UNIVERSE" This is a 'painted sketch' (so to speak) for a much larger and complex painting, (36" x 36") now in process.

The next release in this series, (now in process also) will be an 18" x 18" acrylic painting entitled "THE HARVEST OF THE DEAD THINKERS" This is another look at one of the worlds in the tiny universe.

The "Tiny Universe" is an evolution of the idea first expressed in 'PLANKTONAUTS' (unreleased) and 'BLUE PLANKTONAUTS' ([link]) and then in the triptych ; #1; 'BLUE MICROBIA' ([link]) and #2; 'RED MICROBIA' ([link]), The third and final piece of the triptych is yet to be painted. It will be 'YELLOW MICROBIA'.

What you see in these dipictions are creatures, of varied intellects, who exist in the infinitesimal worlds that exist in the sub-atomic materials that comprise our universe. One 'step down' from us.

This existence of these worlds is based in my belief of an infinity of universes that exist both in our sub-atomic materials, and also that we are a world that exists in the sub-atomic materials of a much larger universe, … and on … and on … and on … in both directions

In the coming days, weeks and months I intend to illustrate the worlds and stories of the universe that lives within us. A place where every thought every human mind has ever thought in all time, past, present and future, all imaginings and realities, both real and theoretical, are true, real, and not only exist, but can be captured and re-digested by our imaginations to create even more fantastic imaginings.
